X4J6 — Why This Work Exists

Chapter 1 — A Call to Know God

This work begins not from ambition, but from a growing conviction:

that to know God is both a calling and a responsibility.

We live in a world filled with information, yet lacking understanding; rich in expression, yet often disordered in love. Many seek meaning, yet begin from themselves, and therefore arrive only at fragments.

But God has not left Himself without witness. He has spoken.

“Let the one who boasts, boast in this, that he understands and knows me.” (Jeremiah 9:24)

To know Him rightly is not the end of learning, but the beginning of life.

Chapter 2 — Why Theology Matters

Theology is not reserved for specialists. It is the pursuit of knowing God as He has revealed Himself.

Without it, faith becomes shallow, easily shaped by culture, emotion, or personal preference. With it, the mind is renewed, the heart is reordered, and life begins to align with truth.

This work exists to encourage deeper theological engagement—

not as an intellectual exercise alone, but as a path toward clarity, stability, and faithful living.

“Be transformed by the renewal of your mind.” (Romans 12:2)

Chapter 3 — The Disorder We Share

Human confusion is not accidental. It reflects a deeper disorder—

a misalignment in what we love, how we know, and what we seek.

From limited experience, we construct partial understandings. From disordered desire, we reshape truth into something manageable. This is not unique to one culture or tradition; it is a shared human condition.

Therefore, this work does not begin by assuming clarity, but by acknowledging the need for it.

Chapter 4 — What This Work Seeks to Do

X4J6 exists to contribute to a clearer, deeper, and more faithful understanding of God.

It seeks to:

  • articulate theological truth in a way that is both grounded and accessible
  • engage questions arising from culture, experience, and daily life
  • connect doctrine with lived reality
  • encourage learning that leads to formation, not merely information

The aim is not novelty, but faithfulness. Not expansion of opinion, but alignment with truth.

Chapter 5 — Under a Greater Purpose

This work stands under a greater end (telos):

that God may be known, loved, and glorified.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” (Matthew 22:37)

The pursuit of knowledge is therefore not separate from devotion. To know rightly is to love rightly; to love rightly is to live rightly.

Chapter 6 — Sent Into the World

This work also stands under a commission:

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” (Matthew 28:19)

The goal is not merely personal understanding, but participation in a wider calling—to teach, to clarify, and to bear witness to the truth in all contexts.

This includes engagement across cultures, recognizing both the limits of human understanding and the unity of truth that does not change.

Chapter 7 — Toward Unity in Truth

Differences in understanding exist, shaped by history, culture, and human limitation. Yet these do not define the final reality.

Truth remains one, because God is one.

Therefore, this work looks toward a unity not built on compromise, but on clarity—

a unity that emerges as understanding deepens and truth is more faithfully grasped.

“…until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God.” (Ephesians 4:13)

Chapter 8 — An Ongoing Work

This website is not a finished statement, but an ongoing process—

a record of learning, refinement, and growth.

It reflects the reality that understanding develops over time, under guidance, correction, and grace.

“Not that I have already obtained this… but I press on…” (Philippians 3:12)
